Village Wellness Mission

To flourish in life, we need to be heard, known, and valued. This is the heart of a healthy village. Our mission is to provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you can find a valuable part of your village. We help our clients break through isolation, persevere from the past, and cultivate the vibrant, meaningful lives they were meant to lead.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s in Counseling and Counselor Education from Indiana University. I also received my undergraduate degree from Indiana University, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies, with minors in Psychology and Sociology. In 2012, I became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) after completing coursework from Florida Institute of Technology, and began working with a team of therapists to support children with autism and other developmental delays. I continue to incorporate principles from Behavior Analysis into my work while also implementing other research-based modalities.

I integrate a variety of counseling techniques in my sessions. These techniques derive mostly from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Behavioral Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). As a Christian, I also prefer to bring faith into counseling. I believe true healing comes from being reunited with our Creator and living as closely aligned with Him as possible. However, I understand this is not everyone’s belief. I will integrate biblical wisdom into our conversations only if you wish to do so.

Counseling people is one of the most meaningful callings in my life. I strive to help others make sense of their world and to better appreciate their worth and impact. I am thankful to have the privilege to connect with others in authentic conversations to spur them on in their pursuit of a more fulfilling life.

My husband and I have been married since 2007 and have been blessed with four children - three sons and a daughter. All of our lives are greatly enriched by our dog, an English Springer Spaniel named Uma. Her unconditional love and constant positivity are a great source of joy for our whole family. My favorite hobby is playing tennis. My husband is my personal coach and I enjoy great happiness on the court with him and friends. I also enjoy cheering for our kids in their sports and activities, even if I don’t love driving them all around town.

Village Wellness Values

  • It is very important to us that you feel emotionally secure. There is no need to censor or protect yourself in our therapeutic relationship. This allows for honesty, vulnerability, and the emotional risk-taking necessary for deeper exploration and meaningful progress. With us, there is space for you to feel safe to be your authentic self.

  • Our ultimate goal is for you to live a healthier and more meaningful life. In order to reach this goal, authenticity for both you and your counselor is necessary. We will not just tell you what you want to hear. We will offer gentle but honest insights and impressions, and at times challenge your patterns or beliefs.

  • This may come as a shock, but we don’t know everything. Even with our extensive training and experience, there’s no way for us to have it all figured out. We will work with you to get to know your unique experience and remain humble when offering guidance and feedback. We are lifelong learners and continue to seek additional training and education to serve you well.

  • We entered into this counseling profession because we truly care about people. We are helpers at heart and have a deep sense of concern for you and your well-being. Throughout our therapeutic relationship, we will strive to be patient, kind, and empathetic. We see you, we hear you, and we are with you.

  • We honor you as a unique individual with inherent value and worth. We believe you were created wonderfully, and we will seek to show you the utmost respect in our counseling relationship. It is important to us to show you this respect, no matter the circumstances. Though we may challenge your thinking, patterns, or beliefs, we will do so with kindness and care.

  • This is a working relationship. We respect your time, effort, and financial investment in counseling. Therefore, we will work hard not to waste your time. We strongly believe in having clear goals in counseling to help you flourish in your life. To do so, we will rely on our training, experience, and resources to guide you toward meaningful change.
